Who do I convince him to do this with me without it branding his so-called masculinity?

Take him to one of the “open house” or “guest nights,” most dance studios have them. He’ll most likely get a free lesson and more importantly see examples of the different types of dances. If he’s really that insecure in his sexuality, you could first take a more macho dance, like Salsa, Merengue or even Tango. In those the man is very much in charge - he is “the lead” - and plus they are very sexy. Once he’s hooked you could move to other types of dance.
In addition, maybe you can choose to do something with him that he wants to do but you don’t enjoy. An opportunity to show him that you’re also willing to go out of your comfort zone.
That, or couples therapy.

Rent the movie Shall We Dance with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. If that doesn’t inspire him, tell him you met the instructor and she looks exactly like Jennifer Lopez!
Good Luck!

I’m a professional instructor. Ballroom very much is a masculine thing to do… depending on the dance. Take the Tango for example. The man is on the prowl throughout the dance chasing down his prey and, pretty much, having his way with it. Then you’ve got the Hustle which is all the man’s dance. I like to think that the term ‘hustler’ came from the dance. He literally does what he wants with the lady. She just follows. Finally, there’s the foxtrot. Depending on the type of guy your husband is… (if he’s not that big “do what I say when I say it” type this is the dance for him). The best way to explain the foxtrot is that the man is on the floor trotting his fox. It’s the dance where he gets to display his showpiece and make her look like a queen. See if any of this helps. Good luck.

Only one way that is going to happen. Give him head before during and after the dancing.
